The “work” is a heavy, grim word dreaded by most people. It sometimes feels like a weight on a shoulder, dragging one down the drudgery of Monday morning. But why?

Most people choose to fear their work because they do not make the simple choice to fall in love with it. It is so easy. It is merely a choice. Would you rather spend 9 to 5 at work, and then hate the thought of coming back, or do a ten-hour workday and then love the thought of coming in the morning to continue? Would you rather hate thinking about your work, or be bubbling with ideas about it?

To not love your work is to condemn yourself to torture.

I choose to love my work. I choose to fall in love with the project I currently have on my hands. Any other way would make me a hypocrite betraying people who pay me to study at graduate school (like my advisor).

So, with this small message, I encourage you - fall in love with what you do. Fall in love with your work. You will be happier if you do so.

Just wanted to take a minute in a week full of tests to say thanks to veterans.

The saying goes: if you can read this, thank a teacher, if you can read this in English, thank a vet. I became a huge patriot of this country (USA) after coming here. It is an imperfect country, like any other, but, paraphrasing Churchill, it is the least imperfect among all. Having lived in USSR and then ex-USSR for 15 years, I am enormously grateful and respectful of the people who volunteer to protect and perpetuate this country and this great cultural tradition known as United States of America by serving in the military.

THANK YOU VETERANS! WE ARE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU DO!
